Joining Praise

Joining Praise
Our baptism brings us into a redeemed relationship
with Christ and His Church.

One may enjoy communicant fellowship with
Praise congregation by any of the following:

.
.

  1. Successful completion of a Youth or Adult Confirmation (membership) class
    .
  2. Transfer from a sister congregation within the LCMS
    .
  3. Profession of Faith (renewing a lapsed membership at Praise or another LCMS congregation), or
    .
  4. Affirmation of Faith (coming from another Lutheran denomination, which may involve  some instruction on the differences between the churches)

Everyone is welcome to come and hear God’s Word and to worship at Praise, but having membership in the church describes a special relationship with the members of the congregation and the LCMS.  Joining fellowship with Praise congregation necessitates  agreement in doctrine and practice, and includes biblical responsibilities both to the Lord and to the church.  These Scriptural obligations are clearly delineated in the Constitution and Bylaws of the Congregation.  Membership also provides many spiritual benefits, such as being able to participate in the Lord’s Supper and in receiving the care and admonition of the Pastors.

Communicant Membership at Praise (being able to recieve communion) follows a time of previous or current study concerning the basic teachings of the church, and usually involves attendance at a class taught by one of the pastors or a Bible teacher.  Upon completion, the member promises to be faithful to God by living a Christian life, attending worship and communion regularly, and serving the Lord and His Church through faithful use of their Time, Talents and Treasures.
