ADULT INSTRUCTION AND MEMBERSHIP CLASS

Any adult (16 and over) desiring to become Lutheran and wishing to join membership with Praise Lutheran Church needs to know what the church believes and teaches.  That is accomplished by attending a 6 to 10 week class in which the major teachings of the church are examined from the Bible.  Upon completion of the course and acceptance of the teachings of the church, one is invited to become a communicant member of Praise, in full fellowship with the congregation and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

JOIN US FOR THE BIBLE DISCOVERY CLASS AT PRAISE!

Beginning the week of January 10th, 2011, we will hold adult Bible Discovery Classes at Praise. If you or someone you know is looking for a church home, please contact the church office. If you are a member and would like a concise review of Christian doctrine, you are also invited to attend. If your children attend our Early Childhood Ministry and you would like to know what Lutherans teach and believe, we would love to have you join us too!

Pastor Paul Dancy will present the main teachings from the Scriptures in this adult and high school level class. We will hear what God has to say in the Bible about: war, salvation, where the Bible came from and why we can believe it, what the Bible tells us about the person and work of Jesus Christ, why different religions and denominations have different teachings, what the Bible REALLY says about marriage and divorce, miracles, parenting, prayer, wealth, sex, death, problems, suffering, abortion and euthanasia, worship, capital punishment, witchcraft, worship, our government, Heaven and Hell, The Trinity, angels, demons, the Ten Commandments, “living together without marriage,” repentance, the Church, the End Times, homosexuality, creation vs. evolution, the devil, forgiveness, temptation, Church Discipline, fellowship, law and gospel, “millennialism”, spiritual gifts, speaking in tongues, and dinosaurs! We’ll study what different churches teach about Baptism, the Lord’s Supper and lots of other relevant topics. Anyone may attend the classes - there is no charge, and there is no obligation to join the congregation. The classes last for 8 weeks. Free child-care is available if requested beforehand.
