Hospital & Homebound

While the norm is for Christians to worship their God among the body of believers inside their home congregations at regular church services, there are times in our lives when this is just not physically possible. If for any reason you find yourself in the hospital, extended care facility, or unable to attend worship at church because your physical condition prohibits you from leaving your house, then please contact the church office right away. One of our pastors will be eager to come and provide spiritual comfort and minister to you through Word and Sacrament. Though you can’t come to church, we can bring “church” to you.
.
Others may be physically well enough to leave their homes, but just do not have transportation to get to church. Again, simply contact us and we will do our best to provide for your needs. At Praise, we want to serve you and show God’s people the love and care that comes through knowing our Lord, Jesus the Christ. All we need from you is to let us know how we might be of service.

WHEN YOU GO TO THE HOSPITAL …
The pastors (and a few others) at Praise would love to visit with you when you are hospitalized. They can listen, read Scripture, pray and share the counsel of God’s Word during a stressful or traumatic time. You can help us by:1. Calling the church office or one of the pastors as soon as you or a family member has entered the hospital. Hospital stays are much shorter these days, so if you wait too long to tell them, you may be discharged before they even get a chance to see you.
2. Since many procedures are now performed ‘Outpatient” you may not even be admitted to a hospital for a serious illness, injury or procedure. You may wish to call the church a couple of days before the hospital visit so that a pastor can visit you at home.
3. Phoning is better than emailing hospital information to the church or pastors, as emails might not even get read for a day or so.
4. Before you are discharged, please call the church office or one of the pastors so that he doesn’t make an unnecessary trip to the hospital to see you- after you’ve already gone home.
5. If you would like a name included on the worship bulletin Prayer List, please call the church office by 10:30 Friday morning, as the bulletin usually gets printed at 11 am.
