Audio-Visual
The audio/video ministry at Praise Lutheran provides the sound and pictures for all Sunday and Monday services. In addition, the ministry is used for all special services or events, weddings, and funerals.
Audio operators mix the sound levels for all microphones, musical instruments, and pre-recorded music. They are also responsible for recording each service for archive purposes. Each operator must maintain the equipment, check batteries and set-up and tear-down for each service.
Video operators run the power point presentation which is projected on the front video screen and includes graphics, text for the liturgy and songs, and any special announcements. In addition the operator will run any DVD presentations.
Members of the Audio/Visual Ministry include:
- Jim & Diane Riecken
- Bill & Cammie Johnson
- Greg & Katie Calkins
- Dave & Stacey Krueger
- John & Linda Behrman
- Richard Rice

Training:
Training consists of the new volunteers attending several basic classes during non-church service times with the A/V director. The various equipment is gone over with plenty of time for questions and answers. The audio portion of the training is a little more time consuming because of the volume of equipment. The video portion of the sound room is learning power point and operating the video projector.
The second stage of training, the trainee is partnered with a trainer during church services and will observe several services before running solo. This allows for each new trainee to operate the equipment with close supervision.
Scheduling:
The goal is to always have 3 to 5 audio/video teams to allow for flexibility and have ample coverage. Schedules are normally made out for three months in advance and will include any special services like Good Friday, Christmas Eve, etc. Schedules are emailed to each team and also posted on the calendar in the A/V room.
