Little Praisers News - JANUARY, 2011
December was an exciting month at Little Praisers! The children love the preparations for Christmas. Decorating the Christmas tree, making paper chains, learning about the Advent wreath, and making gifts for parents kept us busy. The children especially love telling and re-telling the story of the first Christmas using the nativity scenes in our classrooms. Our Christmas program is always a highlight, as well. We were excited to see so many church members there! Thank you to all who helped us by setting up or taking down chairs and tables, greeting people, serving cookies, or just getting to know the visitors we had at Praise. What a great opportunity for letting people know what a welcoming place this is!
January brings a special anniversary for one of our Praise members who is also a Little Praisers employee. Katie Calkins, our head cook, has been employed at Little Praisers for 10 years! Katie is a faithful and dedicated worker, and we are thankful for her service to our program. When you see Katie, please congratulate her on this special milestone.
The Scrip gift card program is up and running at Little Praisers. Thanks to all who made Scrip purchases for Christmas! Scrip is a continuing program, available year-round. We plan to keep gas, grocery, and some popular restaurant and retail locations in stock. Orders placed by Monday at noon will be ready by Friday. A secure order box has been placed on the wall in the church narthex. You can put your order form and check in the box any time, and we will empty it several times during the week (and always before placing an order on Mondays). Thanks for supporting Little Praisers through Scrip! If you have questions about Scrip, you can call us at 490-9529, or email praisegiftcards@hotmail.com.
May God bless each of you in 2012!
In His service and yours,
Alicia

Campbells Labels for Education -
List of eligible products (pdf)
Little Praisers Day Care is an active participant in the Campbell’s Labels for Education Program. We have been able to “purchase” many educational materials, art supplies, and equipment through this program for use in our classrooms. The program requires the UPC code along with the Campbell’s Kid that is beside it on the soup cans and other Campbell’s products. Some products only have the UPC symbol, and these are OK to use, too. We no longer collect the front panel of the products. UPC’s from Franco American, Pepperidge Farms, Swanson, and Market Day along with plastic lids from V8, Splash and V Fusion juices arealso included. At times, there are bonus coupons available in the store. Collection containers are in the Day Care office and on the information counter in the narthex, near the kitchen. If you have any questions, please contact Renee Carr at 489-5272 or at Little Praisers at 490-9529.
