ALPHA (7th - 9th grade) & OMEGA JOURNEY GROUP(10th - 12th grade) GROUP MEETINGS - JANUARY 11th
We’re excited to have a good group of youth now going with us on the two upcoming trips this summer. Summer dates are the week of June 17th for the Alpha Journey Group and the week of June 24th for the Omega Journey Group. There are a lot more details to plan and coordinate though. Therefore, we will be having another meeting for the journey groups on January 11th. Final itinerary and plans for securing travel arrangements will be taken care of at that time. Alpha Journey Group participants should come from 5:30 to 6:30 and Omega Journey Group participants should come from 7 – 8PM

SUNDAY MEN’S BIBLE CLASS Resumes January 8th
Resuming January 8, the Sunday 9:30 am Men’s Bible Class will continue studying the cult of Islam, and how to reach those who have been caught up in this dangerous false religion. As Islam continues to make inroads into American culture - even to the point of being a topic of Presidential debates, more and more Muslims are moving into the mid west and building mosques- which we cannot enter! Places in England and mainland Europe now have been designated “Sharia Law Zones” where all women must wear Islamic clothing only, and allow no alcohol or cigarettes, gambling, secular music or gender mixing. How can we understand the 1,300 year history of Islam to see where it will be going in the next decade or two in America? How can we understand their teachings so as to winsomely reach out to those lost to the doctrines of the mad man Mohammad? Can Islam exist in a republic / democracy like America? Is Allah just another name for the true God? Why are Muslims willing to die for their beliefs? How are our laws changing ALREADY? Join us to understand this insidious theocracy whose inherents have vowed to make America fully an Islamic nation no matter what. Women are welcomed to join us, but some discussion and videos are frank and brutal!

BIBLE DISCOVERY CLASS STARTS IN JANUARY!
Pastor Dancy’s Bible Discovery Class will begin again in January for people who are looking for a church, want to find out what Lutherans teach and believe, and for members who would like a refresher on Lutheran doctrine. MARTIAL ARTS MINISTRY ANNUAL BANQUET - JANUARY 13th
Everyone at Praise and their friends and family are invited to the annual martial arts ministry banquet. You need not be a direct part of this ministry to attend and enjoy the evening. We would like all of the Praise church community to join us in recognizing the martial arts students who have worked very hard this past year. It is going to be a great evening with good food and entertainment by the Taiko Drummers. The event will be held Friday, January 13th at Praise. Doors open at 6:00 and dinner will be served at 6:30. There is no charge, but you will need to have a ticket. All Praise members are welcome. If you would like to attend or have questions, please call Ilyd Perez at 485-1415 or speak with Pastor Brown. See the signup sheet in the back of the Family Center to RSVP. We will need to hear from you no later than January 6th. We look forward to seeing you.

YOUTH WORSHIP SERVICES - SUNDAY, JANUARY 22nd, 8:00 & 10:45 AM
We have another youth service coming up soon. Normally, we hold these services on the fifth weekend of the month. However, after getting approval from Spiritual Care, it was decided we will make a slight change in January. The January youth service will be held on Sunday, January 22nd. We’ve invited the “Come to Go” church youth to join us that day and they will be sitting in with our Praise Team to provide music for worship which will be led by Tinea Agen. Then, our youth will be visiting their church and worshipping with them the following week on January 29th. We are inviting our Jr. and Sr. High youth to sign up to lead worship on the 22nd by doing readings, prayers, and helping with a skit. Please see the sign-up sheet on the clipboard in the family center. Our youth service practice (readings and skit portions) will be on Saturday, January 21st at 6pm (immediately following the Saturday evening worship service). Pizza will be served. Please sign up by Sunday the 15th. Practice for the music portions of the service will be held separately and announced in the weekly bulletin. Finally, because of the youth service on the 22nd, we will be making a slight change to the Saturday night 5pm worship service on the 21s by doing a Prayer and Praise service. Josh Gumbert will be leading music this night. This change to a prayer/praise service is nothing new; we have done this in the past. Attendees of this special service will be encouraged to engage in small group praying during worship. Any questions should be directed to Pastor Brown.

HOMEWORK CLUB - JANUARY 5th, 12th, 19th, & 26th - 4:30-7:30 PM
Homework club will resume and take place during all Thursdays in January. Youth and chaperones are invited to come from 4:30 to 7:30 beginning on January 5th and continuing the 12th, 19th, and the 26th. The martial arts committee of the Outreach Board of Praise will be sponsoring a homework club session simultaneous with the youth group and Little Praisers too. All three groups will share the Edge, youth room, and benefit from the wonderful volunteers that give of their time to come and tutor the youth coming to Praise. Those coming to Homework Club should come to the Little Praisers child care entrance. The church doors are always locked before 6pm for security reasons, but a simple ring of the doorbell should get you quick entrance.
