Rev. J Brown, Associate Pastor
Born in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1969, Pastor Brown began pursuing the ministry as an adult second career student at the age of 31 years.  During his studies at Concordia University in Austin, Texas he was inducted into the Alpha Chi - National Honor Society and soon after graduated Magna Cum Laude from the same institution.  Reverend Brown finished his post graduate work at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana and was both ordained into the Office of the Holy Ministry, and installed as the Assistant pastor of Praise Lutheran Church in July of 2008.  Brown’s main areas of focus at the church include overseeing the youth program, heading up outreach and evangelism, and sharing the regular pastoral duties of preaching and caring for God’s people with the Sr. Pastor.

Reverend Brown has authored two books, Breaking Barriers (Tri-Pillar Publishing) and Street Smarts From Christian Martial Arts (Agapy Publishing).  Some of Pastor Brown’s interests include travel, skiing, movies, listening to Christian music, exercising, and a passion for the martial arts.  Pastor Brown has a 7th degree black belt, has been involved in the martial arts for over 30 years, has represented our country on the United States karate team in Fiuggi, Italy, and is the head of the Christian martial arts ministry at Praise.  Further information on Pastor Brown and a more detailed biography can be found at www.usamartialarts.net.
