The Strategic Planning committee met 11/13/08. Our discussion was on stewardship. Recomendations were made regarding improving our participation, not only in financial giving, but, also in sharing of time and talent.
Pastor Dancy recently came across this article regarding the book “The Secret” which has become a runaway success thanks to Oprah’s endorsement. ”The Secret” promises you nearly anything you want, if you just uncover “The Secret”. The author of this article writes:
The Secret is marketed towards hungry people, who are taught that they must fill themselves with things to satisfy that hunger. The word “things” isn’t specific, why? Because “things” means anything you can buy, or get, or own. It’s anything physical, or material, or satisfying to your worldly sense.
